Continuing
clockwise, there's my father sitting in the wing chair, beneath the
mirror and a floor lamp. Again, he has my photo at his
elbow. Behind him is the open door to the side porch, which
leads to the driveway on the north side of the house.
Further
to the right is a sofa covered in a bright red fabric with green
trim and fringe. It seems rather out of place in the otherwise
subdued pale blue/mahogany/white color scheme.

Here's an older picture of that same corner, presumably from
1949. That's me, sitting on my cousin Jerry's
lap. The wing chair had not yet received its Chinese cover,
and the desk was located at this end of the room.
