Within
a given production, sometimes a large number of actors and singers
and dancers are on stage, and sometimes there are only one or
two. What if the theatre could adapt dynamically?
When
the whole ensemble is performing, the purple seating sections could
be pushed back, leaving a large stage (top diagram). Then when
they all exit and we're left with a soliloquy or a duet, on cue the
purple sections could move in to closely surround a small hexagonal
performance area (bottom diagram).
